Army Friends For Life

Here at RASCS we have close links to the British Army. Every year Richard Wade visits a Care Home in Southport to see his old Army buddy Bruce Duncan. Bruce had a distinguished and decorated Army career spanning 22 years. He served all over the world in the Royal Army Medical Corps and the Adjutant General Corps, ending his career as a Major in the RAMC. During his service in Belgrade in the late 1990s Bruce’s actions resulted in him being awarded the Queens Commendation for Bravery.

A few years ago Bruce suffered an injury that resulted in him now living in a care home in Southport. This year we decided to give him a special treat and with the help of 3 Medical Regiment RAMC from Preston we did a surprise presentation, which you can see in the video.

The motto of the RAMC is “In Arduis Fidelis” (Faithful in Adversity). RASCS adhere to this mantra 100% of the time and when our friends suffer we will do all that we can to ease their burden and make their lives the best that they can be.

Please watch this short video and enjoy the look of happiness on Bruce’s face as much as we did.
